Interested in joining PTA leadership next school year?  We have 2 Standing Chair positions currently open on the Executive Committee: Teacher Support and Staff Relations.  Think of Standing Chairs as managers of a team – they do not chair a specific committee (although they can if they want!).  Instead, this role communicates with chairs in their area to ensure that all the programs are running smoothly and help, if needed.  This is a GREAT way to get involved with PTA and learn about all we do.  No experience?  We’ll train you!  Contact Matt Jones if interested or with questions (  Here are some details:

  • Teacher Support Standing Chair – oversees committee chairs for LMC, PE, Popcorn, Prize Cart, Room Parents and others.
  • Staff Relations Standing Chair – oversees committee chairs for Teacher Meals and Staff Appreciation Week.

Reflections is the National PTA arts program that asks children to get creative!  Students are invited to create works of art in any of six different arts categories, reflecting upon a different theme each year.  The six art categories are dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.  As the chair, you are responsible for collecting all of the May Watts entries, coordinating the first round of judging at May Watts, delivering the winning projects to the district competition, and organizing the end of the year celebration.  If you are interested or have any questions please visit: or contact Sandy Beris at

Thank you for supporting the May Watts PTA!
