Laptops for Everyone! – PTA Meeting

Have you ever thought that our kids should have more access to technology in the classrooms?  District 204 is implementing a new 1:1 Technology plan next year at the Middle Schools so that every student will have their own laptop.  In the next 3 years, they plan to extend this program into High School and some Elementary levels.  Come to the next PTA meeting on Mon, February 8th at 7pm to hear Stan Gorbatkin, D204 Assistant Superintendent Technology Services, talk about that plan and many other exciting topics related to how our kids use technology in school.

Watt Do You Know?!

Our 1st Annual Watt Do You Know? Trivia Night is coming up on March 12th! Included in this fun-filled night will be a Silent Auction. This is a huge initiative for us this year as we continue to support the May Watts community and provide resources to the school that we would otherwise go without.

Did you know that the book your students are reading for One School/One Book were paid for by the PTA? Did you know that the new coat hooks in all of the classrooms were as well? Events like Multicultural night, STEM night, the Talent show and School Assemblies are all sponsored by the PTA funds that are raised each year. The trivia night is our night to make those events possible again for next year!

We are in need of donations for the auction! Do you have gift cards that you know you will not use (Starbucks, department stores, big box stores, spa treatments, etc), do you own a vacation property or timeshare and can donate a weekend or weeks vacation, are you a business owner who can offer services or products, a travel agent who can connect us with vacations? Please consider donating to the auction. No item is too small, we will build baskets of items that would combine to make an awesome auction listing.

To donate, or ask how you can help make this night a huge success, please contact Jennifer Kot at jenkot22@gmail.com

Tickets are $90 per couple and $45 for individuals.  Please click HERE for the signup form.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with trivia beginning promptly at 7 p.m. at the Naperville VFW Hall, located at 908 Jackson Avenue.  The evening will end at 11 p.m.

We hope to see you there!!!

PTA Board Nominating Committee

By February 8th, we need THREE parents to volunteer to be on the Nominating Committee to compile a slate for the PTA Board elections in April.  The parents on the Nominating Committee are not normally eligible to run for the PTA Board, so please only commit if you do not want to run for PTA Board!

This committee is formed to nominate parents for Board positions and is comprised of 3 PTA Board members and 2 General Members (plus 1 alternate).  We’ve identified 3 Board members for the committee and now we need your help.  If you’d like to help us with this very important job, please contact Lisa Kuhn or Amy Toepper (lakuhn001@yahoo.com or amytoepper@hotmail.com).
